Agnes

I’m Agnes Romhanyi, a product and user researcher specializing in trust and safety with a passion for crafting safe and inclusive online social experiences.

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Informatics at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where I study game culture in online multiplayer games at the Games+ Learning+ Society Center.
My research focuses on how game design and governance tools impact the social dynamics in online multiplayer games. I’m passionate about finding ways to combat disruptive behavior and hate-based harassment and creating more welcoming, inclusive, friendly, and safe environment.

I’m located in Southern California, where I raise my wonderful bright daughter together with my best friend who happens to be my twin sister.

In my free time I love to play both digital and tabletop games with friends and family. I enjoy outdoors, hiking, camping and discovering the gorgeous national parks whenever I get the chance.
